British Champions Series

British Champions Day - Ascot

This is undoubtedly one of the most exciting flat meetings in the whole racing calendar as we witness some of the world’s best horses go head to head at Ascot! Plenty of bookmakers are already preparing their offers for us and when these go live, you will be the first to know through us! We can’t wait!

Champions Sprint Stakes Betting Offers

As we look ahead to some of the fastest meetings in the world, we open up with the British Champions Sprint Stakes which is run over 6f. This is open to 3yo+ and is typically the first race of the day. Lester Piggott is a firm favourite over here having won this race previously seven different times where he also won the first race on Absolam in 1979.

Over the last few years, this sprint has seen some unlikely winners and we recommend that you keep your eyes open for some of the best betting offers which bookmakers tend to offer. This will be with the likes of Betfred with their Free Bet if 2nd promotion. PaddyPower will also look to pay out on some extra places with plenty of random bet drops and of course Bet365 will surely offer their legendary 4-1 offer.

Long Distance Cup Betting Tips

The second race is the Long Distance Cup which is raced over 1m 7f at Ascot. This tests the horses pace and stamina on a difficult course for a prize fund over just under half a million pounds. This is the second-richest race in the UK behind the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot.

Plenty of famous horses have featured here in the last few years including the likes of Stradivarius and Kew Gardens who have won the last two races here respectively.

The Queen Elizabeth II Stakes

Frankel truly is a star of horse racing and especially at Ascot where he has won the following race as well. The Queen Elizabeth II Stakes saw Frankel as the winner in 2011 where plenty of other horses have completed this circuit in rapid time. Roaring Lion is a name many may know of in recent times having won this race in 2018 under Oisin Murphy.

The Champion Stakes

The Champion Stakes will be the headline come October for Champions Day where the first winner of the race came in 1877 under Springfield. The king of Ascot also won here once again in 2012. Magical is the current champion for this having won the race last year with Aidan O’Brian securing his first win in this race.

Ascot Betting Tips

Here, we like the look of all John Gosden’s horses. He boasts a significant high rate of winners at Ascot and this continues in October. He will have plenty of runners and riders taking to the course here as you can expect we will have all of our best betting offers right on the site for you.
