The each way matcher searches for each way bets that can be backed and laid for potential profits. Before using this tool, you should familiarise yourself with the Each Way Betting Basics and Risks and Making Profits with Each Way Bets tutorials.

Each Way Matcher Features

1Basic Settings

 

You can configure the basic settings of your each way bet search here.

ITV Racing: Select ‘Yes’ here to find only each way bets for ITV races.

Extra Places: Select ‘Yes’ here to find only each way bets where the bookie is offering to pay extra places.

Stake: Enter your required stake here. Note that this is the stake of both to win and to place bets, so the amount you actually stake will be double this figure.

 

2Refinements

 

Returned results can be further refined by clicking the Refine Results button in the top left and adjusting the following settings.

 

ITV Racing: Select ‘Yes’ to return only ITV races.
Extra Place: Select ‘Yes’ to return only races with extra place offers.
Bookie: Select a bookie here to return only results from that bookie.
Exchange: Select an exchange here to return only results from that exchange.
Event Time: Select a time range here to return results starting within that range.
Back Odds Min: Enter minimum back odds for returned results here.
Back Odds Max: Enter maximum back odds for returned results here.
Back Stake: Enter your required back stake here.
Text: Enter any search terms you wish to include (e.g. name of horse).
Profit: Specify a minimum profit for returned results here.

 

3Results Table

Once you’ve selected your criteria, the returned matches are displayed in the results table. This is similar to the standard oddsmatcher table, but with a few additions and differences.

 

Date: The date and time of the race.
Event: The name of the race.
Outcome: The name of the horse to back.
Runners: The number of runners currently in the race. NB: Races with 8 runners are highlighted in red. It is not recommended to bet on these races, as any further non-runners could result in significant losses (see Basics and Risks Tutorial)
Bookie: The bookie to place the back bet with.
Back Odds: The odds the bookie is offering on the horse to win. The to place odds are calculated from this value.
Exchange 1: The exchange where the to win part of the each way bet is laid.
Exchange 2: The exchange where the to place part of the each way bet is laid.
Lay Odds: The odds at which the to win and to lay bets, respectively, can be laid.
Max. Profit: The profit or loss expected from this match, assuming the odds remain the same, there are no further non-runners, and no special offers are triggered (e.g. extra places paid).

 

4Each Way Odds Calculator Popup

Once you have found a good match, you can click the blue Add button on either side of the result to open the Odds Calculator Popup, check all bet details and add to your records. You can also adjust values here if, for instance, the odds change while you’re placing your bets.

 

5Bet Details

 

Date & Time: The date and time of the race.
Event: The name of the race.
Outcome: The name of the horse to back.
Back Place Payout: The fraction of the full odds that the bookie will pay if the horse places.
Back Places: The number of places that the bookie will pay out on. N.B. This must be equal to or more than the lay places, or large losses could be incurred (see Basics and Risks Tutorial).
Lay Places: The number of places that the exchange pays out on.

 

6Back Bet

 

Win Back Stake: The amount staked on the horse to win.
Win Back Odds: The odds the bookie is offering on the horse to win.
Commission: The commission charged by the bookie.
Win Profit: The resultant profit of the to win part of the each way bet if it wins at the bookie.
Place Back Stake: The amount staked on the horse to place. This will always be the same as the to win back stake.
Place Back Odds: The odds paid out by the bookie if the horse places. This is calculated from the Win Back Odds.
Place Profit: The resultant profit of the to place part of the each way bet if it wins at the bookie.

 

7Lay Bet

 

Win Lay Stake: The amount you should lay on the exchange to win market at the current odds.
Win Lay Odds: The current exchange odds on the horse to win. If the odds change, update this figure to recalculate your stakes and profits.
Commission: The commission charged by the exchange.
Profit: The resultant profit of the to win part of the each way bet if it wins at the exchange.
Place Lay Stake: The amount you should lay on the exchange to place market at the current odds.
Place Lay Odds: The current exchange odds on the horse to place. If the odds change, update this figure to recalculate your stakes and profits.
Place Profit: The resultant profit of the to place part of the each way bet if it wins at the exchange.

 

8Summary


If horse wins: Your overall profit if the horse wins the race.
If horse placed: Your overall profit if the horse places in the race.
If horse not placed: Your overall profit if the horse does not place in the race.
If horse placed X: Your overall profit if the horse comes in a specific place in the race. This will display your potential profits from extra place offers.
